Ministry of Sound finds future superstars with mobile video blog

Ministry of Sound, the dance music brand and Yospace, mobile applications innovator have teamed up to invite clubbers from all over the world to be a part of the Ministry of Sound VIP lifestyle with the launch of a new mobile & internet video blog.

The move comes as the first phase of the Ministry of Sound's direct-to-consumer strategy to enhance their mobile and web offering with user-created content, using Yospace's Media Community Platform as the underlying technology.

To turn its mobile and web users into superstars, Ministry of Sound will apply the technology to a series of stunts and promotions including "Club Superstars" where UK users will be able to submit pictures and video via their mobile phones. Driven by the incentive to be seen by millions and win the VIP privileges from the super club, users enter by simply sending a picture message or video clip from their mobile phone to 07725 700 700. Further user generated video features include a search for the 'Face of Ministry of Sound 2006' and a reality TV/observational documentary to support international events. All of these initiatives will be driven through marketing collateral and branded products that touch over 9.1 million users over the next 12 months.

"Ministry of Sound is a powerful brand, known globally for finding and promoting some of the best talent in the dance scene," said David Springall, CTO, Yospace. "We're really excited to be working with an organisation that has the vision and right customer base to use our technology and multimedia messaging to offer some very cool new services."

"The Yospace platform fits seamlessly into our mobile and website infrastructure and has enabled us to tap directly into our audience," said Matt Dicks, Head of Media, Ministry of Sound. "The nature of clubs and dance music has always been about users at the centre of what's going on, participating and contributing to the scene. user-generated content such as video and images place our user at the centre of the web and mobile business and Yospace helps us to achieve this."
